A Christmas Present for Mommy! (Beautiful Giveaway for You with a Beautiful Cause!)

This summer, my friend Pam (from Moody Bible Institute where I went to school), introduced me to her friend, Kelsey.  Kelsey is an incredible woman whom I had the privilege of talking with via Skype and getting to know a little over the last few months.  We connected immediately when we "met" because we are in love with the same place:  Africa.

Kelsey is the co-founder of an organization called ROWAN (Rural Orphans and Widows AIDS Network). ROWAN aims to help orphans and widows infected or affected by HIV/AIDS and their ministry seeks to be a holistic one that provides education, medical services, jobs and the good news of the gospel for every person they work with.

One of the things they do is provide jobs for the widows who would otherwise be completely unable to buy food and care for their needs, since men typically are the bread winners of the family.  ROWAN trains them to make BEAUTIFUL beads and jewelry to be sold.  You can find their work at www.loverowan.wazala.com under "love, rowan beads."  All profit goes directly back into ROWAN and to provide these women with a salary so they can provide for their families.

Love this bracelet from "The Cuff Collection"

These "Bundle of Joy" necklaces have 5 strands in two colors and are absolutely beautiful!

I'm so excited to let you know that ROWAN is giving one of you your choice of the brown cuff or the turquoise/tan bundle necklace pictured above.  There are some other beautiful designs that you can find online and shipping within the US is free!

I never do this, but I'm so excited about this giveaway and the opportunity to spread the word about ROWAN, that I'm going to allow you to earn up to two extra entries by "liking" ROWAN on facebook and/or sharing the giveaway on facebook (details below).  I know some of you don't have facebook accounts, but you can still get entered with your email address in the giveaway box below.  The giveaway will run until midnight on Wednesday, December 19th and I will announce a winner on Thursday, December 20th.  Can't wait to see who wins!

  1. I would like to order this for my sister in law for Christmas. Do you know if I order today if it will be here by Christmas?

    1. Lori, I'm waiting to hear back from Kelsey on this but I believe today is the cut off for Christmas orders. I'll post here again when I know for sure!

    3. Okay, Lori. Kelsey said she couldn't promise it would be there before Christmas at this point, but that she would try. If you decide to go ahead and order, maybe you could wrap a picture of the gift if you see her often enough to give it to her when it arrives? Hope it works out!

  2. These are so neat. Thanks for letting us know. What a wonderful way to help out and also receive a little something that helps you in turn to pray for these people when you wear the items.

    Thanks!
