There are roughly a million great blogs out there, but we all know that not every post on any blog knocks your socks off. Here are some of the ones I've read lately that have been above average and I wanted to share them with you!
Give the Gift of God's Word by Karen Ehman at The Better Mom. I love, love, love this idea to highlight meaningful Scriptures and write notes in the margins of a Bible and then give it to a child as a gift when they graduate high school (or some other milestone). I think this would be a great way to read through Scripture... not only reading it for myself, but thinking through how I might encourage my child if I weren't right there to talk to them.
(How Not) To Train Up a Child by Tim Challies at Challies.com. Okay, I'd honestly never heard of the book
To Train Up A Child by Michael and Debi Pearl, but apparently it's sold almost a million copies, so I figured some of you probably have. In this two part review, Challies points out some insightful thoughts on a book that has been pretty influential in many people's parenting philosophy. You can read part two here:

Dear Stay-At-Home Mom... by Trevin Wax at The Gospel Coalition. Now THIS was encouraging. I think you should probably read it.
The 'S' word: the one where I get caught speeding by Melissa Deming of melissademing.com. Mmmm... this one hit home. I "justify" my sin a lot. If you have that tendency too, I highly recommend reading this!
Hope you find these helpful, encouraging and inspiring!
thanks for the shout-out Desire! I haven't read "Train up a Child" simply because of all the bad press it got. I suspected my beliefs didn't align with their's - but I will definitely check out the Challies review.
