This activity would be perfect for the beach (or the sandbox!)
We started by reading the story of God's promise to Abraham in our Picture That!: Bible Storybook
I brought black construction paper, star stickers, white address labels and glue for our little activity. I wrote a little part of the verse on 4 different labels (which were: I will make your descendants as numerous as..., the STARS in the sky, and the SAND on the seashore., Genesis 22:17) We brought a little container of sand up with us from the beach and got to work.
First we put the first part of our verse down and added stars on the top half of the page.
Then we rubbed some liquid glue around with our finger and sprinkled some of the sand from the beach on top of it.
We finished off the remaining verse stickers and...
Voila!
A hands on experience to remind Isaac of our trip to the beach and the miracle he worked in Abraham's life (that he had no children and yet was promised countless descendants).
Fun! Fun!
