A Collection of Great Easter Ideas

I LOVE Easter and the opportunities it provides for saturating my kids with the beauty of the gospel.  There are so many fantastic ideas out there to help you do this and there's no way we can fit them all into our families' traditions or write up a post about them.  Here's a list of ideas targeted toward various age groups and seasons of life.  I hope you find some great ideas you can implement in your family this year!

I really like the idea of this Resurrection Tree from To Show Them Jesus.  It's kind of like the idea of a Jesse Tree used for Advent and goes from Creation to the Cross giving an overview of the gospel message.  An ornament is hung each day to represent the story.  It's intended to be done during the 40 days of Lent, but could be shortened and adapted to fit each family's need.  Christina found a super cute, spring-like tree on Etsy and I'm currently on the lookout for one for my own family to do this with.  Let us know if you know of any cute ones out there that would work well with this!

Amanda has a huge list of ideas linked up over at Impress Your Kids.  There are some great ideas.  My personal favorite is her idea for teaching what Christ's sacrifice on the cross did for us with some rocks, an Easter basket and red cloth.  Seriously, it is SO cool!

Desiring Virtue has some excellent ideas of ways to make Easter more meaningful.  Jessalyn's family has some cool traditions for a Good Friday meal and Resurrection Buns on Easter morning.  I would love to implement both of them.  She even has a neat idea for making your kiddos new Easter outfits meaningful!

Christian Preschool Printables has 5 pages of free printables you can use specifically related to preschool.  It includes puzzles, coloring pages, file folder games, matching games, crafts and more!  A lot of it is perfect for printing out and using in church to keep little hands busy during the sermon.

We have a few ideas too!  Here's a link to a list of things I did with Isaac and his Sunday School friends last year.  There are several hands-on and very toddler friendly activities you can do with your young children.

Another resource I love are the popular Resurrection Eggs!  These plastic Easter eggs filled with vairous symbols help tell the story of Jesus' last week on earth, death and resurrection in a memorable way.  Come back tomorrow for a more in depth review of them and a GIVEAWAY!!!
Do you have an Easter tradition or idea that helps your family focus on Christ?  Please share a link or the idea below.  We'd love to hear about it!
