Creation has proven to be a perfect one to do this with since it's broken up into 7 nice, easy sections. Here's a peek into what we've been up to:
I Can Teach My Child also had a great idea for doing a short song each day to help them remember what God created. You use the same tune each day and just change the words to fit what God made that day. Yes, Isaac's still wearing his pajamas. He does his best work right after he wakes up and since he is NOT a fan of me taking video of him, I'll take what I can get. I had to let him hold his Day 1 picture and do like 3 retakes to get a video of him where he isn't flipping out because I'm recording it. Here we are singing the Day One song:
Day One, Day One,
God made light when there was none.
Day One, Day One,
I was also kind of able to get him to do his verse. I pushed my luck and asked him to do it again after he did it the first time and as you'll see, he did not oblige. Oh well. :)

Yay!!!! Keep up the posts!!! This might be one I could try to attempt before Easton gets here! I think Lauren would like it!
ReplyDeleteDo you have the earth globes with the verse to share? Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of Icanteachmychild.com and as I was reading her comments on creation, I came across your comment with your link. I'm getting ready to do the creation study with my kids and I love your clothespin idea with the earth globes. Do you have the earth globes available? I would love to copy your idea. Could you email them to me at jesnscot@hotmail.com if possible. Thank you so much! Jessica
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! One of my favorite services in our community is teaching the little kids! This is a great idea! Patsy from

I really like this activity and may have to add it to my own series on creation.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will take a peek at honeycombadventures.com where I have written a series of posts on the days of creation to complement my book, THE CREATION. Among my "Bible study" posts on creation is one long post to include each of the days of creation with a variety of games, crafts, and activities that could be used for VBS, Sunday school, or at home with children.
The creation story is so important because it helps children to see that they are made to be special in God's eyes and they are not accidents with no purpose.
Thanks for posting this! I have been looking for ways to teach the Bible to my 3 year old (and 1 year old) and have been very overwhelmed. We started with this section today and my little guy is having a blast! I appreciate all your leg work!
ReplyDeleteWhen I emailed you I had not looked at much of your site but I did look at the old testament pages. I was impressed with your creation activities as this has been a passion of mine since I was three (All my grandparents will testify for the truth of that) I don't know if you add links to your site but I think you personally would enjoy a visit to www.creationforparents.com. I have not done much with it in recent years but it is my first love and features the best of a life spent teaching preschoolers.
